Masatoshi Tojo

Owner & Founder, Shiomi Skippers

Born on 7 December 1986, Masatoshi Tojo is the founder of Shiomi Skippers, a gourmet burger restaurant in Tokyo established in 2017. His hospitality career began at McDonald's in Shiomi, where he quickly progressed into a management role. Inspired by a desire to reconnect with former colleagues and fulfil a long-held personal goal, he pursued professional training at Tokyo's renowned gourmet burger restaurant BROZERS', where he spent nearly five years mastering the craft of premium burgers. After gaining further experience through the launch and management of hospitality venues in Ginza, Tojo opened Shiomi Skippers together with former McDonald's colleagues. In 2018, he became the first Japanese competitor to achieve a Top 10 finish at the World Food Championships with his signature Skippers Egg Cheese Burger. Today, he continues to operate Shiomi Skippers with a simple vision: "To build a burger restaurant in Shiomi that attracts people from around the world." Known for its house-baked buns and premium Australian grain-fed Black Angus beef, Shiomi Skippers combines Japanese craftsmanship with exceptional ingredients to create a truly unique burger experience.
