Born in the USA, but raised as a child in Malaysia, Owen spent his formative years exploring the culinary landscape of South East Asia. After graduating from University back in the USA, he decided to pursue his passion and study culinary arts at le Cordon Bleu. After moving to Hong Kong in 2009 to work in Fine Dining with chef Donovan Cooke who had multiple hatted restaurants in Melbourne, he has spent time in cooking everywhere ranging from high-volume sporting venues to private kitchens, commercial BBQ production, Michelin recommended Spanish restaurants and finally Hotel Culinary management. Currently he is Executive Chef of Renaissance Harbour View Hotel Hong Kong, and Cluster Culinary lead for Marriott in HK pushing various sustainability and commercial initiatives for the company’s fourteen properties across the city.
